Who is David Guetta?

He is a 53 years old D.J. record producer and songwriter born in Paris, France. He is popularly known as Pierre David Guetta or Disc Jockey. Guetta is a famous music producer and house music D.J.

He is the half-brother to Bernard Guetta, Dominique Vidal, Joelle Vidal, and Nathalie Guetta.
David Guetta was married to Cathy Lobe in 1992, but they divorced in 2014 after 22 years of marriage. He is a father to two children, Tim Elvis Eric, and Angie Guetta.

He began working as a D.J. in the 1980s, where he would perform at nightclubs. He discovered house music in 1987 after listening to Farley “Jackmaster” Funk on French radio.

David began hosting his club nights in 1989. In 1990 he did his first collaboration with the French rapper Sidney Duteil.

David Guetta released his first album, Just a Little More Love, in 2002 after co-founding Gum Productions in 2001. Later on, Guetta released his second and third albums named Guetta Blaster and Pop Life between 2004 and 2007.

Over the years, David has made a name in the music industry with some of his work, such as the third album, Pop Life, hitting number one spot in the Billboard Hot 100. His hit, I Gotta Feeling, took him to higher heights after getting to the number 1 spot on many countries’ charts.

His mixing of the sleek house with an electroclash punch made him the global dance star.

Guetta won his first award, Best House D.J., awarded by D.J. Awards in 2008. He also took the third position in 2009’s top 100 DJ’s polls magazine. In 2011 he featured in the Grammy Awards after a nomination for Best Electronic/Dance Album.

Moreover, his album titled One love had sold over three million copies by 2011. Guetta also won two Grammy awards in 2010 and 2011 for Best Remixed Recording and Non-classical. In 2011 and 2020, DJ Mag Top 100 DJs polls crowned David Guetta as the number one D.J.

David Guetta also won the coveted American Music Award in Favorite Electronic Dance Music in 2012. His song I Gotta Feeling bagged the title, The Most Downloaded Song Ever in the U.S., for being downloaded about 7.5 million times in the country.

In December 2015, David Guetta, with his song featuring Zara Larsson, “This One’s for you,” got the chance to be UEFA Euro 2016 music ambassador.

Moreover, his song 2U featuring Canadian Pop singer Justine Bieber has featured on World Hit, marking the top 200 in over 40 countries. This hit has also banged Gold and Multi-Platinum positions in many European countries.

David has also gained over 50 million sales of his music worldwide and over 10 billion streams. He also received a YouTube Creator Awards where he has around 22.5 million subscribers.
